电影情节简介


本片以舞蹈为主题，叙述一位女焊接工奋发自学，成为芭蕾舞星的历程。美国匹兹堡的工人住宅区，住这年仅十八岁的黑白混血儿亚力克斯·欧文斯。她父母双亡，只有一条狗和她做伴。白天，她骑着自行车到工厂去做工，晚上在夜总会的酒吧间跳舞。

工厂老板尼克·赫莱爱上了亚力克斯，并以自己自我奋斗成为富翁的经历，启迪亚力克斯报考芭蕾舞学校。考试时，亚力克斯表演了她记性创作的热烈奔放的“闪电舞蹈”。她的才华和精神打动了评委会成员，他们情不自禁地为之击节助威。尼克·赫莱激动地向亚力克斯奉上一束鲜花，表示祝贺。
