这首歌曲原本被George Benson收录于1984年的专辑《20/20》中，但并未引起巨大反响。1987年出身夏威夷的当时只有17岁的无名歌手Glenn Medeiros在参加一次电台歌唱比赛时终将这首歌曲唱红。歌曲迅速成为美国公告牌十大金曲，并在英国单曲榜上蝉联四周冠军。由于迅速的走红，歌曲还被演绎成西班牙语，法语等多国语言，这首深情的情歌后来也被Westlife这样的流行组合多次翻唱。

创作歌手方大同，小学毕业后以“函授教学”方式自学，一路读到高中，最近为新歌拍MV，难得穿上大学学士服，戴着粗框眼镜的他，拿着竹筷当作魔法棒，自称是哈利波特，摆出许多逗趣表情，朋友还贴心帮他合成电影海报，让方大同MSN照片化身哈利波特的模样，笑坏工作人员。

　　毕业舞会场景中，方大同饰演的大学生，暗恋同班同学柯佳嬿，很想邀她跳舞，但手里拿着情书，却不敢踏出第一步，只好幻想和女主角翩然起舞画面。为了这一幕，方大同花2个小时练习，柯佳嬿也表示，她也没有参加毕业舞会的经验，这场舞会彷彿是为了他们量身打造。

　　方大同说：“导演说要边跳边对嘴，我满害怕的，怕忘掉舞步，没想到正式开始，比想像中顺利，几乎没有NG.”两人跳舞相拥，方大同还亲抚对方脸颊，他不好意思地说：“柯佳嬿本人比照片漂亮很多！”让本尊哭笑不得。
